Bespoke staircases in Connah's Quay
We take a fair volume of Cantilever Staircases work across Connah's Quay, and almost none of it repeats. Property here runs to slate-quarry terraces, Victorian resort stock and stone farmhouses, and each of those brings its own set of dimensions. The weather does the rest: severe Irish Sea exposure with very high rainfall here, and salt and rain combining to strip finishes and open glazing joints as the predictable result. Our focus on this is the hidden steelwork that makes a floating tread genuinely safe.
Each opening is recorded individually, since a terrace of identical houses rarely is. Give us the basics and you will have a written figure, not a range that moves later.
Bear in mind for this area: Llandudno's Victorian frontages are protected as a coherent conservation set.

Three numbers decide whether a staircase is comfortable or awkward, and they are the first things we measure.
Rise
Maximum 220mm per step for a private stair under Part K. Consistent to within 5mm across the whole flight, because the foot notices what the eye does not.
Going
Minimum 220mm. Rise and going together must satisfy the pitch rule, which is why a flight cannot simply be shortened to fit a smaller opening.
Headroom
2m measured vertically from the pitch line. This is the constraint that most often forces a winder instead of a straight flight.
What clients tell us
Feedback collected directly from completed projects. Full written references are available on request before you commit.
“The headroom was tight and they redesigned the winder rather than telling us it could not be done.”
Verified client, North Wales“Dry-assembled in the workshop first, so installation day was genuinely uneventful.”
Verified client, North Wales“No squeaks at all a year on, which was the whole reason we replaced the old one.”

Will the finish need maintaining?
A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.
Is the timber certified?
All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes, we deliver across England, Wales and Scotland. Delivery is priced into the quotation so there is no separate charge added later.
Do you fit, or supply only?
Both. Supply-only is common for trade and contractor clients. For private clients we usually recommend supply and fit, because responsibility for the fit and the finish then sits in one place.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
